Managing Partner, Nicola Lowe judges Bournemouth School for Girls Debating Competition 2017


Bournemouth School for Girls students were on top form at the final of this years Debating Competition, where Managing Partner Nicola Lowe attended to assist the judging panel. Several teams from year 9 and 10 had fought their way through three qualifying rounds to reach the final where they debated the thought provoking subject of the generation gap.

Steamer Trading Transformation for Wells Kitchenmonger Store

In the shadows of the glorious gothic façade of Wells Cathedral is nestled a gem of a Cookshop, well known and beloved to the local population of Wells. Trading as Kitchenmonger since 1998 this well appointed cookshop is set to undergo a major facelift for April 2016 when it will be adopted into the multi-award winning Steamer Trading Cookshop family of shops. The store will be closed for 5 weeks from the end of March while it undergoes its stunning new transformation – ready for its grand opening at the end of April.

Care home expansion brings jobs to Weston

A home which provides care for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex behaviours is expanding with help from NatWest.

Longton Court in Weston-super-Mare already offered accommodation to four individuals, and now owner Community Therapeutic Services (CTS) has bought the adjacent property and converted it into a further three self-contained flats.

The company was set up in 2006 by husband and wife Dr David Bladon-Wing and Dr Emily Bladon-Wing, both consultant clinical psychologists, and now operates three homes in north Somerset, one in Somerset and a supported living service that provides care in individuals’ homes throughout the South West region.

The expansion of Longton Court will create at least 14 new jobs and current manager Claire Chapman will now oversee the whole of the extended facility.

South West entrepreneurs opens for applications

‘Hatchery’ for ambitious South West entrepreneurs opens for applications

Entrepreneurs from across the South West are being invited to apply for a place on a free accelerator programme offering support, mentoring, networking and office accommodation.

Entrepreneurial Spark powered by NatWest, the world’s largest free entrepreneurial accelerator, will open a hub - or ‘hatchery’ - for start-up businesses in Bristol this summer, and applications are now open.

The new hub will be located in the NatWest building at Trinity Quay and will accommodate up to 80 businesses.
